Estados Unidos da América!

Em que pese seus defeitos (como todos os países do mundo hão de ter), se trata de um país com mais méritos que deméritos, sem sombra de dúvida. Entre os primeiros, como fonte inspiradora ad eternum, A SEPARAÇÃO DOS PODERES E A ISENÇÃO DA JUSTIÇA.

Sem isto, nós nunca poderemos subir no pódio deste tipo de sociedade. Nunca.

Não é de i-phones e moletons bregas com marcas de outdoor que se constrói uma nação, mas com PRINCÍPIOS INCORRUPTÍVEIS.

Quando cruzamos a linha desta separação de poderes até podemos pegar carona no desenvolvimento, com mais importações/exportações e bugigangas baratas, mas nunca o modo de convivência que garante tua defesa contra a opressão. E se você acha que trancafiar um reconhecido bandido mafioso vai compensar uma “pequena escorregadela” torço para que teus filhos não sofram pelos mesmos desvios que hoje tu acha legítimo.

No mapa acima temos as áreas dos EUA que tiveram maiores aumentos na renda, de acordo com dados salariais de 2006 (antes da crise imobiliária) até 2011, os mais atuais disponíveis. Tais pólos são como vórtex que disseminam inovações levantando o país da crise e que, como ondas, afetam todo o globo. Banal, mas não para mentes afetadas e limitadas pelo jogo de soma zero que atribui a pobreza como consequência da longínqua prosperidade.

Esta fúria é caricatural, como se fosse algo necessário para uma postura e ovação religiosas. Se eu fosse religioso diria que é totalmente fake. Não importa que seja uma foto de 2007 ou de 2012, o teatro é o mesmo. / This fury is a caricature, as something necessary for a religious stance and ovation. Um caminho mais fácil é, realmente, censurar o vídeo. No entanto, se quisermos evitar choques e mortes absolutamente desnecessárias porque fanáticos religiosos não toleram a liberdade de expressão podem se preparar, pois isto é só o começo.

Papo furado! O FBI infiltrando gente em "comunidades pacíficas de muçulmanos" e daí alguns deles se revoltam e passam a querer matar, assassinar, destruir. Então esses são santos?
Diferente daqui, lá a polícia arma para o traficante. Se fizéssemos isto aqui, estaríamos induzindo o suspeito ao tráfico, entende? Então é claro que um agente federal deve se infiltrar e instigar para saber quem é que já está pronto para isto. É preventivo mesmo, nada de errado.
Eu quero é saber quem 'infiltrou' um troco na conta deste Craig para ajudar a processar o FBI e ganhar uma bufunfa.

Uma dica sobre um assunto que me interessa: The Perils of Apocalyptic Thinking - The Atlantic. Na verdade, eu não tenho certeza sobre assuntos como o Aquecimento Global Antropogênico (AGA), mas penso que o autor captou a essência dessa questão para nossa percepção quando diz que o número de céticos sobre o assunto é crescente, enquanto que também cresce o número de crédulos em alguma forma de apocalipse porque o que predomina é a desconfiança, algo como "estão escondendo algo de nós", em que pese o número de evidências em contrário.

Self-fulfilling paranoia is not a sound basis for cooperative relations between nations. China and America need to cooperate with each other.

In recent years, U.S. exports to China have been growing at an annual average of 21%. They are projected to continue to rise at a much faster rate than imports during the rest of this decade, as China overtakes the United States as the world's largest market.

China and America are now married to each other economically. As anyone who is married can attest, interdependence — even affectionate interdependence — begets bickering.

It's an election year in the United States. In such years, we are accustomed to hearing our politicians blame foreigners for all our ills and belabor yesterday's problems as though they were tomorrow's.

It's already clear that 2012 will be no exception to this practice. We are hearing a lot about China, but much of what has or will be said has been or is being overtaken by events. Of course, as the issues shift, the political whining and posturing will just change focus.

But, barring extraordinary lapses of judgment by one or the other of us, the United States and China seem destined to become more, not less intimate. The world economy will be the better for that and so will we.
